CBLPI Staff - Alyssa CordovaLecture Directoracordova@cblpi.org
Alyssa grew up in northern California and discovered George Mason University (GMU) from listening to the great Dr. Walter Williams, a professor at GMU, on the Rush Limbaugh radio program. Growing up in a strong, conservative family, one of her first experiences as a conservative was a Greenpeace fundraiser for school in the fifth grade. Her mother explained the radical agenda of Greenpeace and left the decision up to Alyssa as to whether or not she wanted to participate in the fundraiser. Alyssa did not have to think too hard about her decision to opt out. Alyssa continued her conservative activism in high school and through college where she succeeded in bringing conservative speakers to campus, coordinating activities such as the 9/11: Never Forget Project, to remember the victims of the September 11 attacks; Freedom Week, to celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall and honor America’s heroes; and a “petition” to redistribute GPAs, an initiative to bring the immorality of the socialist policies of the Left down the students’ levels. For her activism, Alyssa was named one of the top conservative student activists in the country for the 2008-09 school year by Young America’s Foundation. Alyssa lives in Reston, Virginia and can be contacted via email at acordova@cblpi.org. Articles by Alyssa Cordova:
